About the Bulletin

The Bulletin of the Department of Anthropology, Dibrugarh University is one of the oldest peer reviewed journals of Anthropology in North East India. The first publication dates back to the year 1972 and it is being published annually since then. In 2022, the Bulletin completed 50 glorious years of its publication. It accepts theoretical and conceptual articles based on empirical work, short communications, review articles and book reviews in different areas of Anthropology and Social Sciences. Occasional special volumes are also published. The bulletin accepts papers written in clear, concise and correct English and prefers write-up on North East India. The bulletin is committed to prompt review, and priority publication is given to manuscripts with empirical data and community based findings.

AUTHOR'S GUIDELINES

Manuscript Submission: Correspondence concerning manuscript and other publishing matters should be addressed to the Editor or the Managing Editor, Bulletin of the Department of Anthropology, Dibrugarh University, Dibrugarh, 786 004, Assam. Email: editor.anthrodu@gmail.com

Manuscript should be submitted in M.S Word Format with Times New Roman Font (Font Size 12), double-spaced throughout with wide margins. We generally prefer write-up on North East India. All pages should be numbered consecutively. Footnotes should be avoided. If essential, it should be given as the end notes following the last page of the text. Figures and illustrations, if any should be submitted in a form suitable for making blocks and to fit the printed pages of the Bulletin. Each table should be submitted on a separate sheet, numbered and must have a legend or heading.

Manuscript Types and Style:

The manuscripts are categorized under three types - Original Articles, Short Communications and Reviews. The manuscript should be prepared according to the prescribed style of the Journal. Manuscripts which do not duly confirm to the Journal style will be returned to the Authors.

Manuscript Structure:

Manuscript should consist of the following divisions:

  1. Title
  2. Text
  3. Acknowledgements (if any)
  4. References
  5. Tables
  6. Figures / Illustrations
  7. Appendix (if any)

References:

The list of reference should include only works referred to in the text. References should be arranged alphabetically and in the following manner:

Tables:

Each table should be submitted on a separate sheet, numbered and must have a legend or heading.

Figures:

Figures and illustrations, if any should be submitted in a form suitable for making blocks and to fit the printed pages of the Bulletin.

Footnotes:

Footnotes should be avoided. If essential, it should be given as the end notes following the last page of the text.

Editing and Author Copy:

Manuscripts accepted for publication are subject to copyediting and to editorial changes required for conciseness, clarity and stylistic consistency. The author of each paper will receive a copy of the Bulletin free of cost.
